The
following policy governs The Australian Frequent Flyer's collection and
use of information transmitted during your registration and use of the
Frequent Flyer Friend.
1. Security of your PIN.
Frequent Flyer Friend was designed with concern for your privacy and security.
The frequent flyer password (or PIN) you enter into Frequent Flyer Friend
is stored locally on YOUR computer. At no time does The Australian Frequent
Flyer, or any other 3rd party have access to this information.
2. Automatic update features.
Frequent Flyer Friend automatically communicates with The Australian Frequent
Flyer's servers via the internet to check for application updates. Simple
updates (such as origin and destination cities) will be done automatically
in the background. Major updates (such as application upgrades) will require
your permission before being actioned.
3. Protection from unauthorized access.
Confidential data, including password and PINs, is never stored on our
servers or any other third-party server. This data remains on your computer.
We encourage you to exercise care in protecting your own computer from
unauthorized access.
4. Collection and use of email address.
You will be required to enter a valid email address when purchasing a
Frequent Flyer Friend license. We use this for contacting you about matters
relating to your license and software upgrades only. You will also be
required to enter a valid email address when setting up Frequent Flyer
Friend. We use this to contact you about matters relating to flight availability.
Flight availability emails may include a short promotional message. You
may, at any time, elect not to receive flight availability emails.Your
email address will never be shared with any other party.
5. Collection and use of frequent flyer membership number.
You will be required to enter a frequent flyer membership number when
setting up Frequent Flyer Friend. This is used to login to your frequent
flyer account on the airline's website. It is also linked to your license
so that you can install Frequent Flyer Friend on many computers without
purchasing additional licenses. Your frequent flyer membership number
will never be shared with any other party.
6. Sharing personal information with 3rd parties.
The Australian Frequent Flyer may provide third parties with summaries
of site traffic information that do not affect your anonymity, such as
the number of visitors to a particular area of the site. We will never
share any personal details, such as your name, frequent flyer membership
number, or email address with any other party.
7. Applicability to other websites.
The Frequent Flyer Friend application contains links to other sites, including
airline websites. When linking from within Frequent Flyer Friend to other
web sites, your use of those sites will be governed by their privacy policies.
Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices
of other sites. You should be conscious of the privacy practices of any
web site that you visit or that collects personally identifiable information.
8. Changes to Privacy Policy.
Any changes to the Frequent Flyer Friend Privacy Policy that
may affect the way your proprietary information is used will be clearly
posted within this privacy policy. We will also notify you, in advance,
by e-mail or via the application updater. You will always have a clearly
defined and ongoing ability to opt-out of any such opportunity.
